Tambo Huk'i
Tambo Huk’i is the name of AWA’s new Mountain Research Station located at 3400 meters elevation above the Sacred Valley of the Incas in the Cusco region of the Southern Peruvian Andes. Tambo Huk’i is approximately 8 kms from the central plaza of the picturesque colonial town of Maras and is walking distance from what many consider to have been the ancient agricultural laboratory known as Moray. This extraordinary setting is surrounded by a stunning glaciated mountain range known as the Cordillera Vilcanota. Without doubt an unparalleled and inspiring context for mountain research pursuits! It is early days and Patsy is currently travelling in Colorado establishing relationship with two high elevation and highly regarded biological field stations there but please stay tuned for further developments!
